Residents of Parla are just a few months away from being able to benefit from the new Parla Norte commuter rail station: according to the Parla City Council, work is expected to be completed on schedule, meaning the infrastructure will be ready by the end of this year.
The new station, which will improve mobility for thousands of people and reduce congestion at the current Parla station, will be part of the Madrid Commuter Rail Line C-4 (Parla-Alcobendas/Colmenar Viejo). It will also serve new urban developments in the area.
Among the benefits of the future Parla Norte station are those associated with greener mobility, as “it will provide access to urban and intercity commuter rail for more passengers and promote sustainable mobility in the municipality and its surrounding area by connecting with other clean modes of transport, such as the tram,”according to Adif.
The location of the Parla Norte station, by the way, will be between the Getafe Sector 3 and Parla stations. The project, which has been under construction since February 2024, is part of the Madrid Commuter Rail Service Improvement Plan and involves an investment of 16.5 million euros, co-financed by the European #NextGenerationEU Funds.
What will the new Parla Norte station look like?

Regarding the passenger terminal itself, the Ministry of Transport describes it as“an urban landmark and an example of sustainable architecture, with a rib-shaped enveloping structure that will protect passengers and channel passenger flows.”
It will feature a single floor divided into three areas—a central lobby, a commercial area with a café, and facilities for station operations and passenger services—and two platforms covered by canopies.
The Parla City Council notes that, as part of “the obligations undertaken in this project,” work will also be completed on the bike lane and the two park-and-ride facilities to the north and south of the station, along with their corresponding access points.
Among the services will also be electric vehicle charging stations and parking spaces for motorcycles, a Kiss & Train zone next to the parking lot, and areas reserved for taxi, bus, and emergency vehicle stops.
New High-Speed Train Station in Parla

Parla Norte will not be the only new station on the horizon for this Madrid municipality: last November, the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, announced that Parla will have its own high-speed rail (AVE) station connected to the commuter rail network.
“It will serve as a relief for through traffic from southern Spain heading to Barcelona, which will not have to enter Atocha or Chamartín and will save time,” explained Puente. For his part, the mayor of Parla, Ramón Jurado Rodríguez, described the announcement as “one of the most important pieces of news” for the town, as itwill “connectitby rail to cities such as Barcelona, Seville, Valencia, Badajoz, and even Lisbon and Paris.”
