If you are young you can get discounts of up to 50% at Filmin, 40% at the Parque de Atracciones de Madrid or two 10€ vouchers to travel by cab, bicycles, scooters, electric scooters and shared cars. All you need is the Youth Card, a free card that includes all these discounts and many more in activities in different areas.
Until now it was aimed at people between 14 and 30 years, but now the age range is extended from 12 years, as announced by Isabel Diaz Ayuso in the Debate on the State of the Region. The measure, adopted by the government of the Community of Madrid, will be effective from 2026.
Thus, young people between 12 and 30 years of age will be able to obtain discounts in nearly 2,000 establishments in a wide range of areas: transport, accommodation, education, culture, fashion and accessories, restaurants, sports activities and amusement parks.
Increasingly used

According to data from the Community of Madrid, 716,660 users between the ages of 14 and 30 currently benefit from the services and discounts of the Youth Card. This is 6.75% more than last year. In addition, half of Madrid’s young people have this card, with an average of 12,300 registrations per month, 98,660 so far this year.
Although the decision to extend the Youth Card from the age of 12 was taken by the Community of Madrid, the same card can be used in the rest of Spain and Europe, where it is valid from 14 to 30. Thanks to agreements with the European Youth Card Association (EYCA), the advantages of the Youth Card are extended to Europe, with the collaboration of more than 50,000 entities.
Initiative recognized by Europe

In August 2025, the Youth Card received the European Excellence Award in the sustainability category. It is a recognition awarded by the Excellence Awards, the awards that recognize responsibility and social commitment to youth throughout Europe.
The jury awarded this prize to the free training workshops promoted by the Community of Madrid’s Youth Card, which have supported education in sectors such as music, artistic painting, languages, theater and video game programming, among others.
How to obtain the Youth Card
The application for the Youth Card is free and the only requirements are to meet the age limit and live in the region. A form must be filled in, which can be downloaded from the web or completed online, and a photocopy of the ID card, passport or residence card must be presented.
It can be processed in person at the offices of the Community of Madrid in the district of Moncloa (C/ Fernando el Católico nº 88, Madrid) or in the district of Salamanca (C/ General Díaz Porlier nº 35, Madrid); at one of the 75 available issuing points or at any Caixabank office.
It is also possible to do it electronically, identifying yourself through the Digital Account of the Community of Madrid and looking for the “Carné Joven” procedure in the card holder section. Once the application is accepted, a digital version of the card is sent to the e-mail address.
