In the same way that there are already places where you can go to see a movie and taste the dishes and drinks that appear on the screen, you can now try a menu inspired by some of the most emblematic works of art history in Madrid. The reason for this is to be found in the new themed dinners held at El Prado.
The art gallery joins forces with the Life Gourmet Group to offer the public a one-hour guided tour of some of the most outstanding works of the museum. And once the visit is over, the Sala de las Musas becomes a dining room where dinner is served with a menu designed by chef Ramón Freixa.
The themed dinners at El Prado are available any day after closing and are designed for groups of a minimum of 25 people, who must all go together. The duration of the dinner is two hours.
What themed dinners are available at El Prado?
Each dinner is inspired either by a style or a specific artist, and the flavors and ingredients chosen are related to outstanding paintings in the museum. The proposals are:
- Medieval Night (€129.50/pp). Intense stews, dried fruits and herbs take center stage. Dishes such as roasted turbot with elixir, lettuce velvet and dried fruit ñoca and guinea fowl thigh stuffed with mushrooms, potato with mortar and truffle are served.
- Renaissance night (135€/pp). A menu in which you can find from carabineros with transparent pappardelle of consommé and thin layers of tempura to vitello piadina with foie gras cream and fungi porcini.
- Baroque night (145€/pp). With abundance as inspiration, preparations such as pintxo hake with champagne damsels or oxtail cannelloni in red wine with multicolored vegetables are offered.
- Romantic night (158€/pp). Options include Iberian prey, plums and glazed raspberries wrapped in a cocoa spaghetti or an apple and balsamic tatin inspired by the story of Adam and Eve.
- Noche de Goya (165€/pp). A menu that plays with distinctive elements of his painting based on roasted monkfish with lights and shadows, seafood cream soup and saffron potatoes or a still life with Galician blonde ribs and candied piquillo peppers.
Essential works from the Prado
Parallel to the route proposed for this activity -and although some paintings are common- we propose this other one, curated by the editors of Madrid Secreto, in which we compiled a selection of the works that we consider essential to visit -some of which are not so well known-.
It is also worth remembering that the themed dinners are not the only initiative that fills the nights at the museum with activity: this year 2025 El Prado by Night, which opens its doors free to the public on Saturdays, is still in operation.
