Many cities in Madrid celebrate their festivities in September and those of Móstoles are not over yet. The festivities in honor of the Virgin of Our Lady of the Saints began on September 5 and there are still days of celebration until the 15th. Popular food, concerts, fairs, children’s shows and a large craft market are just some of the free plans that will be held.
On Saturday, September 13, Móstoles celebrates its first Day Fair, a day long awaited by the neighbors and that will be starred by a popular pancetta and live music. International rock classics will be played for all audiences and there will be free bacon for everyone, with the collaboration of the Federación de Peñas de Móstoles (Federation of Peñas de Móstoles).
The event will begin at 12 noon on the stage of the Plaza del Pradillo, with a family Rockshow. Three live shows will recall the best songs of popular groups such as The Rolling Stones or Queen and there will also be parallel activities such as face painting, workshops, a rock bingo and children’s entertainment. From 12:30, the grill will be set up on the esplanade of the bullring, where free bacon will be served for all attendees.
For the whole family
This Daytime Fair will continue on Sunday 14 on the stage of the Plaza del Pradillo with Family Disco, a show designed for children to enjoy music and dancing as a family starting at 12 noon. The show will continue in the same place at 1:30 pm with La hora del Vermú, a flamenco-pop show by the group Agua y Sal.
In addition, throughout the weekend will be open the craft market, traditional in the festivities of Mostoles. The stalls will be set up on Avenida Iker Casillas and will be open from 10 am until midnight. There will be music and activities such as wood carving workshops, henna, popular games (the rope, the handkerchief, sack races), parades and fire shows.
More music during the night
The free music program will continue throughout the night with well-known artists such as Bombai, DePol, Iván Ferreiro, Estrella Morente and David Bustamante, among many others. The main stages of the performances will be located in the Plaza del Pradillo and in the park Finca Liana, distinguishing between Liana Fuentes and Liana Carpas.
On Friday 12, starting at 10 p.m., Shaila Dúrcal and the group of contemporary artists of the Europa FM Party will perform : Bombai, DePol, DJ Roger Freedom and DJ Aruba. Estrella Morente ‘s flamenco will resonate on Saturday 13, along with the Indie Festival, featuring Iván Ferreiro, La habitación roja, Monodosis and DJ Pepe Difenders.
For its part, Sunday 14 will be dedicated to the Nuova Vendetta Orchestra, La noche de la movida (where Los Secretos, Semilla Negra and DJ Julián The Angel will play) and David Bustamante. On Monday 15, Beret will be who will put the finishing touch to the festivities with the last performance at 22 hours.
Puppet festival evenings
Beyond the music, for the little ones entertainment will be served during the afternoons at the Puppet Theater of Finca Liana. The II Children’s Festival will be held there, with one show at 6:30 pm and another at 8:00 pm. On Saturday, W.C.will be shown , a funny comedy where a clown discovers his independence in a bathroom. On Sunday, the laughs will continue with La chef Pipa and El elefantito will close the festival on Monday 15 in a single screening at 18:30 hours.
With all this, Móstoles becomes a stage full of shows, workshops and free food. The whole family will be able to celebrate the last days of the festivities, whether at the Day Fair, the II Children’s Puppet Festival in the afternoons or the evening concerts.
