Next year, thousands of retirees in Madrid will be able to benefit from a new aid approved by the Community of Madrid: it is the Housing Rent Complement for Non-Contributory Pension Holders (for disability or retirement), aimed at those people who do not have their own home and are paying rent.
This measure, announced last September on the second day of the Debate on the State of the Region by the President of the Community, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, will consist of an annual amount of 525 euros (i.e., 43.75 euros per month) that will benefit nearly 2,500 retired people in Madrid.
This direct aid will be added to the one that the General State Administration has been paying since 2007 as a supplement for people in this population group who usually live in a dwelling rented by owners with whom they have no family or couple relationship.
How to apply for the aid for retired persons
The procedure can be carried out through the website of the Digital Administration of the Community of Madrid every year between January 1 and December 31 for the current year. Its resolution will be given within a maximum period of 3 months.
In the case of family units in which several people who receive non-contributory pensions live together, only the holder of the rental contract will be able to receive the aid. In case there is more than one, the beneficiary will be the first of them.
Other aid for the elderly in the Community of Madrid

Senior citizens in the Community of Madrid are also eligible for other types of aid and benefits, such as the Senior Card (only for those over 60 years of age), the Madrid Mayor Card (which includes discounts in many establishments and benefits in municipal facilities) or the Cultural Routes, for those over 55 years of age.
