The Egyptian has been -and is- a civilization that never ceases to generate fascination: films, books and exhibitions have been dedicated to it, but few like the one that will arrive at the Centro de Arte Tomás y Valiente (CEART) in Fuenlabrada (Leganés Street, 51) next February: Treasures of Egypt is one of the largest exhibitions that have been dedicated to it in our country and from February 14 it can be visited completely free of charge.
Organized by the City Council of Fuenlabrada in collaboration with the Sophia Foundation, this exhibition brings together reproductions of important works of art such as the statue of Pharaoh Khafre from the Cairo Museum, the statue of Ramses II from Luxor or part of the grave goods of Tutankhamun.
Those who visit it will also have the opportunity to see recreations of temple pylons and parts of tombs, dioramas -such as a scene of mummifying priests-, the chapels of Sekhmet and Osiris and even Egyptian Playmobil pieces.
The exhibition brings together more than 140 reproductions in total, including a throne of Anubis, the golden sarcophagus and the funerary mask of Tutankhamun, the seated scribe of the Louvre or recreations such as the avenue of sphinxes and the pylon of Luxor or the Rosetta stone.
In addition to all the above, children will have the opportunity to learn to write their name in hieroglyphics and adults to delve into the civilization of the Nile through guided tours.
