The tulips of the Royal Botanic Garden could well have been a source of inspiration for impressionists like Renoir or Monet. These cheerful and simple flowers arrived in Madrid more than 300 years ago from Holland, whose landscape would not be the same in spring without them.
April has brought them out for another year, and the Botanical Garden is the perfect place to see them in all their splendor. Until the middle of this month we will be able to take photos of the varieties housed in the garden: there are 17,000 units of different shades of orange, yellow, red and violet.
The trick to visiting the tulips for free
The Botanic’s doors are open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, allowing you to capture the transformation of the tulips under different lights. On Tuesdays, admission is free until 1:30 pm.
It is advisable to arrive early: as the number of visitors tends to increase during the day, it is recommended to take advantage of the quiet early hours to explore outstanding areas such as the Exhibition Greenhouse.
