There is just one day left for Villa de Vallecas to kick off the celebration, one more year, of its festivities in honor of the Virgen de la Torre: an event that will fill the district with activities and concerts from September 6 to 15.
In charge of giving the proclamation tomorrow at 9 p.m. in the Plaza de Juan Malasaña will be Sergio Camello, the Rayo Vallecano striker who scored the decisive goal for Spain to win the gold medal – the second in its history – in the final of this summer’s Olympic Games against France. “I just wanted to bring her to the neighborhood…. Promise is a promise!” she wrote a week ago in a Instagram post.
From that moment on, the bulk of the festival program will begin, in which you can find, among others, children’s activities, sports, exhibitions, free concerts and fireworks.
Program of the Fiestas de la Virgen de la Torre 2024
Of the free concerts of the Villa de Vallecas festivities this year it is worth mentioning the stellar performances of La Guardia (on Saturday, September 7 at 22:30h in the Municipal Auditorium Las Trece Rosas) and Gonzalo Hermida, just a week later in the same place and at the same time.
Another musical event expected in the district is the celebration of the XIII Edition of Villa Rock, which will take place on September 14 from 19h to 21h in the Municipal Auditorium Las Trece Rosas and will feature performances by Madrid-based Skaffolding and their “fast-paced rumba” and Ombligo, whose music evokes the “gypsy universe of the Balkans”.
On the other hand, as part of 21 Districts have also organized an astronomical observation event led by professors from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) and a workshop body marbling.
The closing will take place on September 15 at 23h with fireworks on the avenue of Ensanche de Vallecas with return to the corner of Avenida de las Suertes. You can check all the activities at this link.
