Madrid celebrates Chinese New Year with a wide variety of events, from vibrant parades in Usera to the China Taste gastronomic initiative, which brings together 19 restaurants with special menus. The Burial of the Sardine in Madrid
The burial of the sardine, one of the most curious traditions of the Madrid carnival, has its origins in the eighteenth century. According to legend, Carlos III delivered a batch of sardines in bad condition to the people, who turned the event into a burlesque celebration. The Alegre Cofradía del entierro de la sardina keeps this tradition alive with a funeral procession, parades and bonfires that bid farewell to the carnival with joy and satire.

The Cocido Madrileño Route 2025
This 2025, the Ruta del Cocido Madrileño celebrates its 15th edition with more than 35 participating restaurants in Madrid, Toledo and Segovia. During the event, which runs from February 15 to March 31, some 90,000 servings of this typical dish will be served. The restaurants will offer unique variations, from traditional options to vegan versions. In addition, attendees will be able to participate in raffles, including a prize worth €2,000.

Medieval market in Chinchón: a trip to the past
Chinchón, considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, celebrates from February 28 to March 2 its traditional medieval market, ‘El Señorío de Chinchón’. The blossoming of the almond trees in Quinta de los Molinos.
Every February, the Quinta de los Molinos becomes a magical place thanks to the flowering of its 1,893 almond trees. This natural phenomenon, which tinges the park with white and pink tones, is ideal for strolling and enjoying nature. The park offers a unique spectacle, especially in areas such as the secondary entrance on Alcalá Street. The flowering usually lasts three weeks, announcing the arrival of spring.
The best exhibitions to enjoy the art in warm weather
