Since Monday, November 4, the company Renfe publishes the delays of its Cercanías trains in Madrid in real time: it has created a Whatsapp channel where users can be informed about the timetable modifications suffered by the railway service, as well as find out about alternative transport plans in case of works or breakdowns .
On Friday, November 8 (just four days after its launch), the Cercanías Madrid channel already had more than 7,000 followers. This figure demonstrates the effectiveness of the initiative, which functions as a bulletin board where announcements are posted every time there is an incident.
