The Women’s National Football Team will be in Basel (Switzerland) this Sunday, July 27, to play, for the first time in its history, the final of the Women’s European Championship. And the match, which they will play against England, can be seen for free on a giant screen in a park in Madrid.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation announced it last night as follows: “The Berlin Park will become a giant stadium for the final of the European Championship”. Thus, the fans will be able to follow the match live at the St. Jakob-Park stadium, which will be played from 6 pm onwards.
Admission is free, so it is not necessary to apply for accreditation or a ticket. All that is needed, according to the RFEF, is “a national team T-shirt and the desire to cheer on Spain”.
Spain – England, the constant duel
This Sunday’s final of the Women’s European Championship will not be the first time that the Spanish players will face England in the final of a top-level competition: they already did it in the 2023 World Cup in Australia, after which they became world champions.
Last summer, their male counterparts also met England in the men’s European Championship, with a victory for the national team. We’ll see what happens on Sunday, but no matter how the game ends, the players have already made – and have already made – history.
