Shakira has already arrived in the capital to kick off, from September 18 through October 11, her residency in the capital: a series of 12 concerts as part of her *Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour*, which will be complemented, at the same venue, by a comprehensive cultural program celebrating Latin culture.
The scale of the event is also reflected in the venue itself, known as Macondo Park: a 30-hectare themed complex surrounding the Shakira Stadium, designed specifically for the occasion within the Iberdrola Music complex in Madrid’s Villaverde district.
During the day, the various areas of Macondo Park—from a library to a fashion workshop and a food court—will be bustling with activity, and at night the concerts will take place, with a capacity for more than 50,000 fans; tickets are still available.
