Master brewers from across the Madrid mountains will gather on September 18 and 19 for the third edition of the Soto Beer Fest, the mountain craft beer festival in Soto del Real. Since 2024, this unique festival on the southern slope of the Sierra de Guadarrama has offered attendees the opportunity to sample all kinds of beers (all locally brewed), going beyond the usual industrial beer brands.
To enter the festival, simply purchase an access wristband for €2 at the entrance, where each visitor will also receive… a complimentary glass. In addition to guided beer tastings, the festival will also feature a craftmarket, raffles, live performances by DJs and bands, and food stands where you can enjoy cold cuts, cheeses, empanadas, sandwiches, and more…
Activities will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, and from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19. As in recent years, the festival is organized by the craft beer brand Chozas Sierra Beer (although other brands are also participating), the Merendero Abuelo Trobas restaurant, and Eventos Azero, in collaboration with the City Council and the Soto del Real Association of Artists and Artisans.
How to get to the Soto del Real Beer Festival
The Soto Beer Fest will be held on the back esplanade of the CAT (Center for Art and Tourism) in Soto del Real, at Avenida Víctimas del Terrorismo, No. 2. Although it will be some time before the Cercanías commuter rail network reaches this Madrid town, several intercity bus lines stop in the area, namely:
- The 720 Colmenar Viejo-Collado Villalba.
- The 721 Madrid (Plaza de Castilla)–Colmenar Viejo.
- The 724 Madrid (Plaza Castilla)–Manzanares el Real–El Boalo.
- The 725 Madrid (Plaza Castilla)–Miraflores–Bustarviejo–Valdemanco.
- The 726 Madrid (Plaza Castilla)–Guadalix–Navalafuente.
- Bus Route 728 : Colmenar Viejo–Soto del Real–Manzanares el Real.
Those who choose to come by private vehicle can park in the public parking lot across from the CAT grounds or on adjacent streets; once inside the grounds, they must refrain from tasting the beers if they plan to drive home.
