Madrid Otra Mirada will break records in its 14th edition, to be held from October 12 to 18. This year, the cultural program organized by the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Urban Landscape will feature 205 participating organizations and 249 organized activities—even more than in its previous edition (which, in 2025, was already the largest in its history).
Among the 205 heritage sites open to visitors are palaces, museums, theaters, churches, gardens, cemeteries, libraries, and other buildings and monuments, which visitors can experience from a different perspective through guided and dramatized tours, concerts, lectures, exhibitions, and many other activities—some of which are also designed for children.
Participation in the activities is completely free, and it also offers an opportunity to explore some iconic buildings that are usually closed to the public. Some of the sites joining the program for the first time this year include the Palacio de Gaviria, the Galería de las Colecciones Reales, and the Estadio Metropolitano, among others.
How to reserve a spot for “Madrid Otra Mirada” activities that still have openings

Registration for the activities of Madrid Otra Mirada 2026 opened this Tuesday, September 29, at 10:00 a.m. Many of the spots for the activities have already sold out, but there are still openings available for the film series organized by the Casa de México Foundation. Tickets can be reserved at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Urban Landscape.
Many other activities, however, require registration through separate forms. The complete list of activities, along with their respective registration methods, is included in the official brochure for the Madrid Otra Mirada program. Reservations will remain open until October 15 at 12:00 p.m. (if spaces are still available).
Through the central reservation office , it’s also possible to join the waiting lists for activities that are already fully booked; each participant may sign up for one waiting list per activity, and for a maximum of 14 waiting lists in total. Fortunately, this year—as in past editions—there are also a number of activities that do not require advance reservations and are therefore open to the public free of charge.
