Imagination, new stories and limitless universes. Although it may not seem like it, video games and LEGO brick constructions have all these elements in common and have been connecting generations for years.
LEGO Gaming: The Exhibition is the new exhibition hosted by the OXO Museo del Videojuego in Madrid from Friday, October 3, which connects LEGO pieces with the gamerworld . Throughout the tour, the virtual and physical worlds come together through characters, scenarios and even historical pieces.
It can be visited with the entrance to the museum itself, located in the street Postigo de San Martin, 8, near Callao. It costs 21.90 euros, except for children under 5 years old who can enter for free.
From the screen to the hands

The exhibition traces the LEGO universe from its beginnings through audiovisual materials and physical pieces. It especially highlights how these construction pieces have made it possible to transfer to the physical world universes that were previously only played on the screen. LEGO Fornite, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga or LEGO Party are just some of the games that will be present.
During the visit it will be possible to see large-scale 3D models, emblematic video game sets and even themed dioramas, which are small-sized three-dimensional representations that recreate specific scenes. In addition, it has a certain experimental character for the visitor, since it will be possible to interact with some of these elements.
Call for nostalgia

Although LEGO Gaming: The Exhibition brings together the latest developments in LEGO and video games, it also proposes a trip to the past. To do so, it features historical pieces from Denmark, such as the Wooden Duck (1958), the LEGO Train (1966) and some of the first LEGO video games in history.
In this way, it connects different generations that maintain the creative and imaginative spirit that so defines the LEGO and video game universe. For seniors, it appeals to nostalgia with what were their first toys and video games. In fact, arcade machines from the 80s and 90s are back in fashion in Madrid for this very reason.
Children, on the other hand, find it a fun experience, where they can let their imagination and creativity run wild to explore limitless universes. It is the perfect opportunity to unite passions within the same family.
Workshops to keep playing
With the aim of promoting interest in LEGO and imagination, the OXO Video Game Museum of Madrid has also organized a series of workshops for children between 6 and 12 years old. They will be on Saturday, September 13, at 12pm and 1pm, lasting approximately 45 minutes. Places are limited and tickets can be obtained for free through the website.
