Betting on the local economy is a good way to take home local and quality products while taking care of the environment. Fortunately, new farmers’ markets are appearing in the capital, as well as initiatives to encourage the purchase of food from Madrid.
One of these initiatives is the fair being organized on Sunday, October 13 at Calle Fortuny (number 53) from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, which will bring everything from natural ingredients to add to our best recipes to activities for the youngest members of the household.
The fair ‘De la tierra madrileña a tu plato’ has already passed through towns like Chinchón, Arganda del Rey or Moralzarzal, and now it is about to arrive with its more than 30 stalls to the courtyard of the José Ortega y Gasset Foundation.
Its organizers have already advanced that it will be “an unprecedented gastronomic journey” in which we will find a careful selection of meats, sausages, fruits, vegetables, honeys, cheeses, wines and oils. It is presented as the ideal opportunity to discover the history of essential raw materials in our gastronomy and, of course, to enjoy its most authentic flavor.
Among the local companies that will join ‘De la tierra madrileña a tu plato’ we find Pastelería de la Torre, famous in Morata de Tajuña for its chocolate palmeritas, which have appeared at fairs dedicated exclusively to this heart-shaped sweet. Also added are Aceitunas Hijos de Segundo González, Bodega Tinta Castiza, Embrujos de la Sierra with its cheeses and Recespaña.
