Chinese restaurants in Usera are multiplying in the vicinity of Dolores Barranco Street. This district in the south of Madrid has a large population from this Asian country – so much so that it is the Spanish district with the highest concentration of Chinese citizens – and with them they have brought their traditions, such as the celebration of the Chinese New Year its businesses and its gastronomy.
1. Hong Kong 70
In Hong Kong 70 is almost a classic among Chinese restaurants in Usera. Belongs to the Bellaciao group, creators also of Running Sushi, the free Asian food buffets of Madrid.
As you might expect, they focus on cuisine specific to the city that gives the restaurant its name, which is one of Asia’s gastronomic strongholds. One of its specialties is duck in almost all its forms: roasted, fried or shredded in its dim sum. The Chinese dumplings are homemade and have interesting fillings such as duck with foie flambé.

2. Bammbao
At Bammbao, Asianstreet food is filtered and presented in a Western style, which is also reflected in the minimalist décor of the restaurant. The baos are large and steamed with all kinds of fillings, although their Chinese oxtail cannelloni is a good cross between here and there. Desserts are also very hearty and the cheesecake is especially recommended.

3. Helaotai
The three red lanterns hanging from its door do not deceive: here you come to eat pure Chinese cuisine. And, in particular, one of the most demanded Asian dishes: the ramen (especially lamb). To accompany, their gyozas (handmade and prepared on the day) and rice cakes, hearty, with just the right amount of stickiness, with a touch of toasted sesame.

4. Usera
Dolores Barranco Street has a fixation: ramen. This restaurant that indexes so poorly on Google (search for it by Usera 面香缘) is another temple of Chinese soup. Like its neighbor, Helaotai, this space is dedicated to the alchemy of funds and broths. But they also have a complete assortment of dishes among which the Satay (i.e. skewers) and their homemade noodles stand out.

5. Guo Rong
The Guo Rong restaurant specializes in southern Chinese food, especially seafood and fresh fish. It is so well known for this that every weekend it gets crowded and reservations are a must if you want to have a guaranteed spot. If you choose one of the best rated Chinese restaurants in Usera, be sure to try the spicy crab, sautéed lobster or razor clams and oysters.

6. Lau Tou
A marvel of Usera in an authentic place, without neon or pastiche. His specialty: Cantonese soups and dumplings (homemade, of course). One of the most recommended dishes by absolutely everyone who tries it is the hake head soup at 13 €. Tasty and hearty, like most of Lau Tau’s dishes.

7. Igo Pasta
No, we have not included the wrong article in this list. Although the name alone seems to suggest that it would be logical to see it among the best italian restaurants igo Pasta is a Chinese restaurant that stands out for its homemade ramen and its menu of the day. In its menu you can find dishes typical of this gastronomy such as duck, different preparations of veal, noodles, fried rice… and also Japanese cuisine.

8. Royal Cantonese
The Royal Cantonese is to Usera’s Chinese food restaurants what the Lhardy can be to downtown restaurants. If it makes sense to talk about a classic in the Madrid district (and in Madrid, really) it makes sense to refer to Royal Cantonese. He specializes in Cantonese food and the same kind of people who say they listened to Crema before he was C. Tangana says they ate better before. Speaking of his beef tendon stew: if Spanish gastronomy could snatch one dish from another gastronomy, that dish would be the aforementioned.
