Billiards is a sport that unites. No matter what modality you play or whether you are a professional or a beginner, if you do it with your friends the table will absorb your evening. Billiards is formal and extremely elegant but it is also naughty and requires a bit of shamelessness, reflecting the spirit of Madrid quite well.
For some it will be a hobby of older gentlemen but the truth is that there continue to be many regulars to this strange sport, so in some of the places we will mention there may be conflict over who gets the turn of the table. So that you don’t miss out on playing, here are the best billiards in Madrid.

Access to the club is completely free and it has been open since 1999 for the enjoyment of the residents of Arganzuela. It is a large place where we find American and French tables, as well as dartboards and foosball tables.

The space merges the idea of restaurant, cocktail bar and bar, combining tradition with contemporary spirit.
The aesthetics of the Trafalgar Bar are reminiscent of the most mythical bars in New York such as The Odeon. Open until 2AM and with non stopkitchen, the Trafalgar Bar is the ideal place to go and play a few games of pool while enjoying a negroni.

3. The Austere Cow
Rock and good atmosphere since 1981. This is how La Vaca Austera presents itself, a bar in the heart of Malasaña with all the identity of the Movida. Its pool table (although it is quite old) is more rogue than the previous ones. The music changes the context and in La Vaca Austera metal and 70’s rock take us to a Spain of changes and a more quintessential Madrid.

4. The Floating Opera House
In the Prosperidad neighborhood we found La Ópera Flotante, a two-story bar with a classic pub style; dark wood bar and furniture and, of course, a Verde pool table. It also has a dartboard, a comfortable sofa area and 4 large screens for watching sports. Most people are unaware that inside the Fine Arts Circle (CBA) is a room with 11 billiard tables (9 French and 2 American). Although the room is reserved for members of the CBA, it is customary to hold open days that are announced in advance through the CBA’s networks.
The hall dates back to 1950 and still retains original elements such as spring markers and abacuses.
