In Madrid’s Moratalaz neighborhood you can find a small bar (one of those that have been around forever) that is proud to say that it offers the cheapest patatas bravas in the whole city. Eating well and cheaply is something increasingly unusual in the streets of the capital, however, the Bar Gredos (Calle del Arroyo Belincoso, 12) is one of those exceptions that continue to promote the popular prices. We discovered it a few days ago via Tiktok thanks to Big jp The Devourer and is on its way to going totally viral.
The dish that has made the establishment known has been its totally homemade bravas, both the potato and the sauce. This typical Madrilenian tapa can be eaten at Bar Gredos for 2€ the ration. In the premises they have a large poster entitled the ‘Bravometro’ indicating the best patatas bravas in the capital, Bar Gredos despite not being in the top ranks prides itself on offering the best price (by far).
In addition, in this hidden place, located a few meters from the Vinateros station, you can taste other traditional dishes at very good prices. Highlights its Russian salad for a cost of 3.30€ the half portion (quite abundant) their plate of grilled ear (8,20€ and a half for 4.50€) and also their torreznos ( for 6.80€ y 4,10€ the average).
The Bar Gredos is therefore one of those neighborhood establishments that maintain the purely Madrid essence of the triple b. One of those bars to which you have to go at least once a lifetime because if there’s anything more satisfying than eating well, it’s that the bill doesn’t scare you after you’ve eaten.
