Tuesday, March 3, is an important date for those looking for a rental apartment in Madrid: it is the date on which the Community of Madrid opens the registration period to apply for 442 public housing units under a sustainable rental scheme —starting at €574, a price considerably below the market rate—at Calle Isaac Albéniz, 2 (Pinto).
The process will open at 9 a.m. and can be accessed via this link from Sogeviso, the specialist affordable rental property developer through which the allocation of flats in this development is being managed.
These public housing units, incidentally, are part of the nearly 3,200 properties in the Plan Vive Plan that will be completed throughout this year, “with the aim of facilitating access to housing for young people and families,” in the words of the Regional Minister of Housing, Transport, and Infrastructure of the Community of Madrid, Jorge Rodrigo.
Requirements

There are six main requirements for applying for one of these properties. As for the profile of the future tenant, they must be of legal age, have Spanish nationality or legal residence in Spain, and priority will be given to those registered in Pinto —or those whose workplace has been in the municipality for at least three years.
It will also be necessary for the home to be used as a primary residence and for the applicant not to own any other property in Spain. In terms of financial requirements, applicants must meet the income limits established for each type of home (between 1.5 and 7.5 times the IPREM), which is between €600 per month and €7,200 per year.
Finally, it is a requirement that no more than 35% of the household’s net annual income be allocated to the payment of the total annual rent.
How does the public housing allocation system work?

As explained by Sogeviso on its website, to register, applicants must fill in the required information and, if they meet the preliminary requirements, their application will be accepted. The homes will then be allocated “in order of registration.”
If you are awarded one of the homes, Sogeviso will contact you to provide the relevant documentation and, once the requirements have been verified, the rental contract will be signed digitally.
A date will then be set for the handover of keys: the first allocation is scheduled for March 9, 2026, and the apartments will be available to tenants next April.
