Madrid is getting ready to celebrate a new edition of the Festivities of San Isidro with one of its most emblematic delicacies: “rosquillas” (doughnuts), traditionally accompanied by limoná to enjoy their flavor even more. However, this year, five bakeries in the city have decided to put a twist on this tradition with an innovative campaign called “Siempre Seremos Pequeños” (We Will Always Be Small).
The objective of this initiative is to bring the products of these bakeries to new generations and families, adapting them to the palate of today’s children. To achieve this, they have decided to reinvent the classic doughnuts from the Madrid Day fusing concepts and flavors in a creative (and eclectic) way.
Each of the five bakeries has created its own gastronomic experience, keeping in mind the message of bringing tradition closer to children. Among the new proposals are marshmellow doughnuts, white chocolate doughnuts with raspberry and “petazetas” or lollipop-flavored doughnuts.
With these new proposals, the participating bakeries not only seek to innovate in their creations, but also to keep the tradition of donuts alive during the San Isidro celebrations, sharing moments of joy and sweetness with Madrid’s families.
where and when can they be found?
From May 10 to 15, these five children’s doughnuts will be available in five emblematic bakeries in Madrid: El Pozo, Casa Mira, El Riojano, La Mallorquina and La Duquesita. Each one will have its own unique recipe, which will also be displayed in the store window.
