This weekend, Madrid will host the 2026 FORMULA 1 TAG HEUER SPANISH GRAND PRIX after a 45-year hiatus from hosting such an event in the capital. For this reason, the Community of Madrid has scheduled a free F1® video mapping show from Thursday, September 10, through Saturday, September 12, to welcome the sporting event.
The images will be projected onto the facade of the Real Casa de Correos—the seat of the regional government—combining lights and silhouettes “to show the public MADRING, the Madrid circuit
Madrid circuit,” according to the regional government.
Some details have also emerged about what the video mapping will look like. The show will begin with projections of some of Madrid’s most iconic historical landmarks, such as the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, the arcades and balconies of the Plaza Mayor in Chinchón, and the Castle of Manzanares el Real.

Afterward, the facade will gradually turn red until it forms the flag of the Community of Madrid with its seven stars, and the second part of the show will begin with the message “Madrid is back.” From that moment on, the video mapping will transform the building’s facade with images from the world of motorsports, such as passing maneuvers, turns, pit stops, drivers, and celebrations.
The projections “will cover the facade and play with its various architectural elements, creating the sensation that the building itself is changing, moving, and coming to life, to offer viewers an immersive experience,” according to the Community of Madrid.
Schedule and showtimes for the F1® video mapping
The visual spectacle can be viewed from September 10 through 12 with four daily showings, scheduled every half hour between 10:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
