Madrid dedicates a whole week to celebrate the Hispanidad, with a program of more than 150 activities. Street performances, recitals, music, exhibitions, workshops and gastronomy will commemorate the richness of Hispanic American culture. In addition, this year the focus will be on Argentina, the guest country.
The Hispanidad program began on October 3 and will continue until Sunday, October 12, the day of the National Day and the traditional parade of the Armed Forces, among other activities. The shows will be spread throughout the city, with the main stages in the Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Puente del Rey and two new locations: Plaza de Colón and Plaza de España.
Columbus Day celebrates the encounter between Europe and America, especially the cultural and linguistic ties shared by Spanish-speaking countries. The events organized by the Community of Madrid are dedicated to celebrating diversity, under the slogan “todos los acentos caben en Madrid“(all accents fit in Madrid).
The streets are filled with music and dance

These days, the festive atmosphere is very easy to capture through sound, as the streets fill with concerts, classical and traditional dances and more live shows. Some of the most anticipated free concerts include Bomba Estéreo, Alizzz or Mocedades and Los Panchos, among many others.
Bolivia will give a sample of its traditional dances on Sunday, October 12 at Santander Park (1:00 p.m.), with its folkloric show “Suri-Sikuri”. Different dance conservatories from different parts of Spain will also perform on October 9, 10 and 12. And on the 11th there will be a flamenco show by the Ballet Flamenco de Madrid at the Puerta del Sol ( 21:40 h).
Other shows will be of humor, magic and circus. Most of them will be located in the gardens of the Palacio de Vista Alegre and in the Parque de Santander, and all the information can be found in the official program. There will also be juggling, puppets, acrobatics and clowns for all ages.
Flavors from more than 15 countries

Gastronomy joins the celebration of diversity with more than 200 different establishments that allow you to try authentic recipes from different Latin American countries. Many of them are only known by the natives themselves and it is a good opportunity to get closer to other cultures through flavor.
The Community of Madrid has drawn up a map that includes places with authentic cuisine from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, El Salvador, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela. Thus, it has created its own gastronomic route of Hispanidad 2025.
Theater, poetry and shared ideas

Theater and literature are other arts that allow for closer ties with the Spanish-American world. Teatros del Canal will offer several plays such as Oxímoron, which reflects on soccer through a Colombian community performance, or Medida por Medida (La culpa es tuya), written by Shakespeare and performed by an Argentine company, among others.
There will also be space for poetry recitals such as The Woman in Hispanic America ( October 10 at the Lope de Vega House Museum) and a tribute to Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa through the screening of some of his most famous novels. In addition, both the Casa de Mexico and the Cerralbo Museum will be holding round tables that will put established artists from Spain and Latin America in dialogue with each other.
