The Last Supper is to Milan what Las Meninas is to Madrid: an eternal symbol of the artistic legacy preserved by the city. Da Vinci painted the famous religious scene with an experimental technique (at least at the time): he used a mixture of tempera and oil on plaster, which in the long run has contributed to the painting’s poorer conservation. It has undergone several restorations without much success, leaving its original appearance an enigma to visitors to Santa Maria delle Grazie.
Starting today, Friday, January 10, Nomad Museo offers an immersive experience about the iconic work. It will be in Madrid (Gran Via, 78) until April 13, from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm.
In its audiovisual room, Nomad hosts a life-size mural (8.80 by 4.60 meters) in which you can appreciate the anatomical study and the pictorial technique used by the Italian master to create The Last Supper. The museum also has a didactic area where visitors can expand their knowledge of the painting through reading panels and virtual reality experiences.
As in previous exhibitions such as The World of Van Gogh or The Mystery of Bosch, Nomad fuses technology and art to immerse visitors in a futuristic and dynamic space that stimulates their curiosity and invites them to interact with the mysterious elements hidden there.
