Residents of Chamberí will soon have a new supermarket near their homes: Lidl will open a new store at 95 San Bernardo Street (very close to the San Bernardo Metro station) this Thursday, October 29.
With the opening of this new store, the German company aims to strengthen its presence in downtown Madrid and become a go-to option for those living in the heart of the city. On September 18, the company opened another supermarket at 23C Hermanos García Noblejas Street, in the Simancas neighborhood.
At the new store on San Bernardo Street, shoppers will have access to Lidl’s usual assortment: fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and fish, and bread and pastries, as well as packaged goods, beverages, cosmetics, personal care products, and cleaning supplies. The various sections will be spread across more than 1,000 square meters, all of which will be dedicated to the sales floor of the new Lidl store.
What will the hours be at the new Lidl?

According to a press release issued by the German company, the new Lidl store on San Bernardo Street will be open Monday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. It will be an attractive alternative for those who need to shop on Sundays, when other supermarket chains, such as Mercadona, keep their stores closed or have reduced hours.
