Madrid will celebrate, on the night of Saturday, June 6, to Sunday, June 7, 2026, the White (and Yellow) Night: a special edition of the initiative that brings artistic and cultural heritage closer to the public through free events and special openings to mark Pope Leo XIV’s visit to the city, whose name is “a nod to the colors of the Vatican flag.”
During this evening event, more than a dozen cultural institutions will participate, including national institutions (such as the Prado Museum, the Reina Sofía Museum, and the Royal Collections Gallery), local institutions (the Temple of Debod, the Museum of the History of Madrid), private institutions (such as the Thyssen Museum), and cultural centers (such as the Espacio Telefónica and CaixaForum).
On the other hand, some Madrid parishes “of architectural, historical, and artistic value” will also open their doors during these hours so that “pilgrims can visit them and pray there,” according to the event’s official website.
