
Permanent contract for life. It sounds idyllic, but it is possible in Spain thanks to public employment competitions. This year, the Community of Madrid has confirmed that there will be 10,310 vacancies to work as a civil servant in key sectors, especially in health and education.
6,919 of the new vacancies will be for professionals in the health sector; 1,853 for teachers in the non-university education system, and the remaining 1,538 will be distributed among the other categories (administration, IT, social work and more).
Two thirds of the vacancies for newly hired positions
According to the Regional Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, more than 70% of the vacancies (7,268 in total) are for new entrants: a great opportunity for job stability outside the private sector, especially in the case of healthcare professionals. In addition, there will be 319 internal promotion positions and 2,723 positions that will reduce the temporary nature of employment.
