Going out to eat in Madrid without breaking a gothic (an expression that can be used to refer to the 20€ bills because the art in which its iconography is inspired by the gothic) seems already a thing of the past. Like cardboard subway tickets or smoking inside bars.
There are, nevertheless, some traces of that past -that of cheap prices, not so much of tobacco prices. It is available in some of the bars that provide free tapa with drink in some of the Senegalese restaurants of Lavapiés or in other options such as the restaurant known as Winnie the Pooh.
where is the cheapest ramen in Madrid?
And there is also Ramen Kuraya, that restaurant located between Sol and Opera that claims on a sign on its door that it has “the cheapest ramen in Madrid”. And the truth is that it is hard to contradict this statement – beyond the ultra-compact ramen options that are purchased in some asian supermarkets.
The menu includes a ramen dish option for only 2,95€ which is defined as follows: “ramen noodles, spring onion and Naruto with chicken broth and special sauce”. That price is for 100 grams of ramen and the double (200 grams) would cost 4,95€.
To put the price of this dish in context, it may be a good option to see that in the menu other ramen such as truffle ramen is priced at 8,95€ for 200g and 11,45 for 400g. A menu, by the way, that also includes other dishes such as takoyakis – octopus balls – or karaage chicken – fried marinated chicken. And also gyozas with prices that do not exceed 5€ and that include 5 units.
