Adif maintenance work is bringing changes for passengers on the C-3 commuter line. For almost three months, from February 16 to May 7, trains will change their route after 9:00 p.m.
This means that the service will start and end at Villaverde Bajo station , forcing passengers to change trains to complete their journey. To do so, they can use the C-4 line trains that connect Atocha and Villaverde and a special Renfe service.
Alternative routes

To facilitate mobility, an alternative transport plan has been put in place from 9:00 p.m. Travelers should use lines C-4A and C-4B to travel between Atocha and Villaverde Bajo, the station where a special train will be available.
This train will replicate the usual route of the C-3, stopping at San Cristóbal de los Ángeles, San Cristóbal Industrial, El Casar, Getafe Industrial, Pinto, Valdemoro, Ciempozuelos, and finally Aranjuez.
In total, the service will run three times in each direction, from 9:05 p.m. until closing time. It will only go as far as Villaverde Bajo, so those who want to continue to Atocha or Chamartín will have to do so with the C-4.
Improvement works

Renfe will inform its customers via the public address system, its website, its social media accounts, and its Cercanías Madrid WhatsApp channel, ensuring that they are aware of the changes.
To facilitate adaptation to this new mobility plan, they will also reinforce information, customer service, and security personnel between the Aranjuez and Villaverde Bajo stations.
The aim of all this is to improve infrastructure and increase the reliability and quality of the rail service. These are not the only changes that have affected the commuter service, as last weekend saw the closure of Sol station for improvement works in the tunnel.
