Visiting the Christmas markets in Madrid has become an essential attraction for those who spend the tenderest time of winter in the capital. There are all kinds of complements: from ice rinks to food trucks of famous chefs. There are also others that are less flashy but just as interesting for their original offerings. Among them we find Pop Up Chic, which brings to the Salamanca neighborhood vintage accessories to give style to our Christmas dinners at home.
Until November 23, from 11:00 to 21:00 hours, number 59 Serrano Street will have centerpieces, table linens, scented candles, candlesticks, glassware and many other pieces of vintage decor for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Some of the brands presenting their Christmas products here are Maison Fabiola, Sol & Luna, Blanca Echart and Bichobola. Prices vary depending on the item: from tablemats for €12 to antique porcelain tableware worth more than €1,000.
An ode to chic
Pop Up Chic is an initiative of three design addicts: María Eugenia Fernández-Shaw, Rocío Padura and Rocío Galatas. With their experience in the world of fashion and communication, they decided to create an ephemeral market in which to bring together decoration and clothing firms, in addition to exhibiting exclusive products, both new and vintage. Their ode to chic has admirers inside and outside Madrid: it has already passed through the Clerkenwell Gallery in London and the Guadalmina Hotel in Marbella among other iconic places.
In its database, the founders of the flea market have more than 6,000 brands. Some of them are haute couture, others are emerging designers who are making their way and some are small entrepreneurs who leave their profession to devote themselves to fashion.
