Litter garbage cans that are transformed into bookstores and banks that take the form of books. Literature is finding different ways to meet readers this month of may and it does so in ways as diverse as the above. The latter, in particular, will again fill the streets of Madrid with benches in the form of books in the near future.
It will be on the occasion of the celebration, one more year, of the campaign ‘Sit down to read’ 2024. The initiative, promoted by the Madrid City Council, aims to “promote the taste and love of reading through libraries and bookstores of proximity“.
Specifically, these literary benches can be seen from May 22 to June 22, 2024, as confirmed by sources from the Madrid City Council to this media. And each of them will display a different book – and therefore a different design.
