To decide on an escape room in Madrid among the great offer that there is, you must first decide on a theme: mystery, terror, robberies and dystopias surround most of these experiences.
The original idea of the rooms escapes was born from the anime scriptwriter and director Takao Kato in 2007, four years later it was spreading around the world, and of course in Europe, thanks to a Hungarian company: in 2019 it was living its peak of openings and interested people. It is now a safe plan for the weekend for groups of friends.
1. Colors Escape Room by Experiencity
Colors is the largest escape room in Madrid. Among its immersive stories, there are a variety of challenges to overcome: discovering Atlantis, surviving the end of the world, recovering the mask of the emperor Qin Shi, protecting a hacker, or going back to childhood and trying to get the treasure of One-Eyed Willie. The difficult thing here is not only to escape, but also to decide on one of the experiences.
💸 From 20 € per person.
📍 Plaza de Francisco Morano, 3
2. The House of Mayhem: the path of chaos
It is not a typical escape room: it is a total descent into terror and our most primal fears. The House of Mayhem, the path of chaos is an experience divided into two parts. The first, a tunnel of terror for those addicted to adrenaline and scares. The second, start the game: you must find the four forbidden cards and, to do so, look for clues in the most inhospitable places of this labyrinth of rooms. Of course: the best clues come from the inhabitants of THOM, the path of chaos (a murderous clown, a possessed girl, a werewolf…) with whom you will have to interact… if you dare.
Moda Shopping Mall (Avenida del General Perón, 38-40, Bernabéu)
3. Bites Motel
Bites Motel is an experience worthy of a Netflix mystery documentary series, that’s right, you don’t have to go to Wisconsin because it’s in Vallecas. This roadside motel is newly renovated, though don’t expect white walls and brightness, in fact, it’s quite the opposite. It’s almost two hours of escape room, in which, apparently, there is a manager eager to welcome customers.
💸 From 16 € per person
📍 Calle del Puerto de Pozazal, 4
4. Street escape: Goya and the route of the deaf
If there is an escape room in Madrid, this is it. For two or three hours you will be part of the uprising of the people of Madrid against the French. Armed with knives, pitchforks and sticks, the invading army must be confronted. The history of the city is in your hands. Epic is the key to this experience, which takes place outdoors through the streets of downtown via the company’s app, and teams of six can participate.
💸 From 13,5 € per person.
📍 Plaza de la Condesa de Gavia, 3
5. The interview at Cubick Escape Room Madrid
Among Madrid’s escape rooms with actors, La Entrevista has one of the most original proposals. The plot is about a company opening its headquarters in Madrid and looking for employees, so be prepared for an unconventional job interview – in case a normal interview wasn’t already a mystery story in itself. Of course, in this one you will have and need the help of your colleagues.
💸 From 20 € per person.
📍 Calle de Téllez, 3
6. Cold War, 1976 in Exit Madrid
This Cold War escape room has just the right touch of tension. It is a compact room, with a complex narrative, a rhythm that is difficult to decipher and an ending under pressure. Stopping a nuclear alarm that would unleash World War III, rather than an escape room, seems like a necessary internship.
It is designed for groups of two to five players.
💸 From 30 € per person.
📍 Calle de Caracas, 15
7. Madrid Terror Escape Room
Madrid Terror is an escape room in which it is always Halloween. You will only have a flashlight and a survival kit for the next 90 minutes of scares and tension. Paranormal Experience and Horror club are their main escapes, but they have special experiences for the months of October and November, as well as others designed for families.
💸 From 30 € per person.
📍 Paseo de la Esperanza, 53
8. Urban Escape Room: The mask killer
In Urban Escape Room you have to catch and discover the identity of a serial killer who is spreading terror throughout the country. Madrid is the scene of the crimes and is leaving its corpses in emblematic places of the city. Some clues will be online because through social networks he broadcasts the murders, creating even more commotion in society.
This city escape is designed for a maximum of four people and has a duration of two hours.
📍 Madrid and Alcalá de Henares
9. El Secreto de Madrid
Secreto de Madrid is a mix between escape room and theater, completely outdoors and perfect for touring the city. They feature two sets of intrigues, where the actors will guide you -or make you get a little more lost- through the mysteries of the downtown streets. The escape city concept is summed up well in these experiences, which fit perfectly within the concept of birthday plans or family members. They usually have an average duration of two hours.
💸 From 27,95 € per person.
📍 Locations will be given two days prior to the date of the escape room
10. The Pharmacy
The London of the 19th century inspires this escape room. The crimes follow one after another and the Mujeres disappear, by mistake they have arrested Sherlock Holmes, who shares a surname with the main suspect. You have 75 minutes to prove the innocence of one of the most relevant characters in literature. Don’t let the pressure get to you.
💸 From 30 per person.
📍 Calle San Jaime, 60
11.The White Room
You have one hour to get out of this room. This room is based on the original concept of escape room games in which there is no story, only the difficult challenge of escaping with little help. In The white room players enter a completely white room, with few elements, with no apparent logical relationship, where they must solve with three clues a great enigma in the form of a final code. This experience is on the margin between play and mental training.
💸 From 25 € per person.
📍 Calle Luis Vives, 6
