Starting to watch what you eat doesn’t have to mean bringing your own lunch if you’re not at home; there are now enough healthy restaurants in Madrid to let you relax about it.
Counting calories is out of style—it was about time—but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t pay attention to what we eat for many other reasons. Salads are no longer the only healthy option, and that’s where the restaurants on this list bring a breath of fresh air. The range of recipes, new ingredients, and dishes has expanded, and healthy eating now has many approaches, from comfort food to vegan options, including desserts with plenty of chocolate.

At Mafrens, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and snacks without restrictions. Their menu has been designed by nutritionists, and based on this solid foundation, you can choose the ingredients for the Mafrens Kitchen—a meal combining all the macronutrients.

2. BumpGreen
At BumpGreen , they’re committed to slow cooking , where they pay close attention to the origin of the ingredients and, of course, how they’re prepared. The chefs in charge of the kitchen are David Ariza and Jordi Bresó. The former is an expert in cooking with wild plants, rice dishes, and fish; while Bresó is a pastry expert, culinary educator, and food writer, specializing in food pairing —where ingredients are chosen based on how they complement each other.
Although the menu is vegetarian on Mondays, the rest of the week features a balanced selection where meat is present but not the main focus.
📍Location: 7 Fortuny Street (Chamberí)
3. Naked & Sated

Naked & Sated is one of the restaurants owned by soccer players Ibai Gómez and Marco Asensio alongside businessman Marino Cid. The recipes at this healthy-eating restaurant are created by Roberto Bosquet, executive chef and Instagram star with over 1 million followers.
Gluten has no place on their menu—great news for those with celiac disease—but that’s not all: you won’t find any added sugars or refined flours either. None of this keeps pizza off the menu—though it does come with a quinoa crust—and the star of the menu is their dessert shaped like a berlina: the Donakeds.

4. Hermanas Arce
The Arce sisters, Elena and Ana, have struck a balance between café and restaurant that’s hard to find. A Nordic touch, French spirit, and Mediterranean cuisine where everything is made on-site, from the bread to the cakes.
A telling detail is that they don’t have a microwave. Although their breakfasts are well-known for their homemade pastries—their cookies are the sweet treat you need to indulge in—lunch is their specialty, so much so that they don’t serve dinner: they close at 5:30 p.m.

5. Run Run Run
Run Run Run is one of Madrid’s most appealing healthy-eating restaurants. Chef Taut Repsy’s dishes are prepared using low-temperature, slow-cooking methods, in line with clean eating principles .
As a fun fact, and in keeping with the spirit of its name, they have a running group that trains in Santander Park, near the restaurant, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
📍Location:Plaza de Juan Zorrilla, 1 (Ríos Rosas)
6. Roots Lamarca
Roots Lamarca is attached to a multi-brand store specializing in sportswear and beauty products, and is surrounded by Siclo and Tracy Anderson, two women’s gyms. In other words, wellness permeates the concept and the food served here, and of course, it’s almost always packed with people in workout clothes. Recently, they’ve also opened another location in the Salamanca neighborhood.
They mainly sell bowls with ingredients you can choose yourself or pre-selected combinations, which you can also buy to go in glass jars. One of the unique features is that they make cups you can eat. It doesn’t get any more eco-friendly than that.

7. Mama Campo
Mama Campo’s slogan is: “from the most traditional to the healthiest,” and they live up to it. Located right in the heart of Plaza de Olavide and featuring a wonderful terrace, this restaurant’s menu includes everything from roasted leeks with cecina crumbs to a quinoa salad (with or without salmon).
Their catering service can organize a party for you anytime. They also rent out their spaces, in case you don’t want to make a mess at home.
📍Location: Calle de Trafalgar, 22 (Chamberí)
8. BarGanzo

BarGanzo has established itself as a unique spot in Chueca, featuring a cuisine built around vegetables, spices, artisanal breads, and slow-simmered stocks, aligned with a broad interpretation of Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. Its concept has evolved over time: from its beginnings as a vegetarian restaurant, it has expanded to include a pescatarian menu, while maintaining a focus on fresh produce and vegetables that continue to play a central role.
Among its most representative dishes is shakshuka, that instantly recognizable poached egg stew, though the kitchen’s identity is also evident in dishes such as lajuj with pumpkin cream, its various hummus varieties, shishbarak, and seasonal recipes. The result is a flavorful, colorful menu designed for sharing, very much in line with the idea of healthy cuisine but with technical depth.
📍Location: Calle de Colmenares, 13 (Chueca)
