Starting to watch what you eat doesn’t have to mean taking your tupperware with you if you’re not at home, there are already enough healthy restaurants in Madrid to relax about it.
Counting calories is out of fashion -it’s about time-, but that doesn’t mean that for many other reasons we don’t pay attention to what we eat. Salads are also outdated as the only healthy option, and that is where the restaurants on this list bring freshness. The range of recipes, new ingredients and dishes has opened up, and the healthy now has many approaches, from comfort food to vegan options, including desserts with plenty of chocolate.
1. Mafrens
At Mafrens you can have breakfast, lunch and snacks without restrictions. Its menu has been designed by nutritionists and, on this safe basis, you can choose the ingredients of the Mafrens Kitchen, a combined dish with all macronutrients.
This healthy food restaurant in the neighborhood of La Latina also proposes to combine your food and drink with the experience of creating. From time to time they announce on their Instagram account the dates for their plate painting workshops, PintArte. A round plan to share in a group.

2. BumpGreen
At BumpGreen they are committed to slow cuisine , in which they take care of the origin of the product and, of course, its preparation. The chefs in charge of the kitchen are David Ariza and Jordi Bresó. The former is an expert in cooking with wild plants, rice and fish; while Bersó is an expert pastry chef and gastronomic trainer and disseminator, a specialist in Foodpairing – in which ingredients are chosen according to how they combine with each other.
Although on Mondays his menu is vegetarian, the rest of the week follows a balance in which meat is present, but is not the main protagonist.
Average price: 30€.

3. Naked & Sated
Naked & Sated is one of the restaurants owned by soccer players Ibai Gómez and Marco Asensio together with businessman Marino Cid. The recipes of this healthy food restaurant are signed by Roberto Bosquet, executive chef and star on Instagram with more than 1 million followers.
Gluten has no place in their menu, great news for celiacs, but that’s not the only thing, you won’t find added sugars or refined flours either. None of this prevents pizzas from being on the menu -with a quinoa base, of course- and the star of the menu is its dessert in the shape of a berlina: the Donakeds.

4. Arce Sisters
The Arce Sisters, Elena and Ana, have achieved a balance between cafeteria and restaurant that is difficult to find. A Nordic touch, French spirit and Mediterranean cuisine in which everything is made on site, from bread to cakes.
A fact that reflects this very well is that there is no microwave. Although their breakfasts are well known for their homemade pastries -their cookies are the sugary treat you need-, meals are their strong point, so much so that they do not serve dinner: they close at 17.30h.

5. Run Run Run
Run Run Run is one of the most attractive health food restaurants in Madrid. Its decor will make even the most reluctant to consider whether to upload a photo to social networks, but its menu with organic, local and seasonal products is not far behind in praise. Chef Taut Repsy’s preparations are low-temperature and long cooking, following the recommendations of clean eating.
As a curious fact, and pointing to the premises of its name, they have a running group that trains in the Santander Park, near the restaurant, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 20h to 21:30h.

6. Roots Lamarca
Roots Lamarca is attached to the multi-brand store with a focus on sportswear and beauty, and surrounds Siclo and Tracy Anderson, two gyms for women. In other words, wellness permeates the concept and the food they serve here, and of course it’s almost always crowded with people in activewear. Recently, another location has also opened in the Salamanca neighborhood.
Mainly, they sell bowls of ingredients to choose or already thought, and you can also buy to go in glass jars. One of the curiosities is that they make glasses that can be eaten. Nothing more ecological.

7. Mama Campo
Mama Campo’s claim is: “de lo castizo a lo más healthy” and they are consistent with it. Located in the Plaza de Olavide and with a great terrace, the menu of this restaurant includes roasted leeks with cecina crumbs as well as a quinoa salad (with or without salmon).
Their catering can arrange a party for you at any time. They also rent their spaces, in case you don’t want to stain your house.
