The DANA that paralyzed Valencia last October is a topical issue. In Paiporta, Sedaví, Picanya, Benetússer and many other towns there is still a lot of work to be done: more than thirty schools in the area have not fully recovered from the floods.
For this reason, the composer Fernando Velázquez -authorof the soundtrack of The Impossible and A Monster Comes to SeeMe- organizes Sonarem: a benefit concert that will feature famous artists of the national scene, including Leire Martínez (former vocalist of La Oreja de Van Gogh), Rozalén and Zahara.
Those who could not sign up for Som Valencia will find in Sonarem an ideal opportunity to help those affected by the natural disaster through music. The concert will be on Friday, January 24 at the Teatro Real, the first institution of musical arts in Spain.
The recital, conducted by Fernando Velázquez himself, will be joined by the Youth Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Community of Madrid (JORCAM and ORCAM). They will create exclusive symphonic versions of the hits that will be sung by Nil Moliner, María José Llergo, Pasión Vega, Leire Martínez, AMBKOR, Rei Ortolá, Zahara and Rozalén.
All proceeds from the concert will go to the Federation of Musical Societies of the Valencian Community, which is working to rehabilitate 32 schools affected by the DANA. Tickets are already on sale at the official website of the Teatro Real (with row 0 enabled).
