After a season in which El Corte Inglés has been in the news for closing some of its stores or centers -some as emblematic as the one in Méndez Álvaro-, the department store is now back in the headlines for just the opposite reason: ECI is going to open a new store in the Community of Madrid and, moreover, it will be an outlet store.
El Corte Inglés Home Outlet, which is the name of the new space, will be located in a building that the company owns on Avenida Juan Carlos I, s/n in Alcalá de Henares, and replaces what was once a Bricor.
At the moment it is known -because it is announced in the facade of the building- that it will be possible to find household items, electronics and appliances with discounts, although no further details about its catalog or the amount of these sales have been disclosed.
At the time of publishing this article, the new outlet does not appear on the company’s website, but it does have its own entry on Google Maps.
Opening date of the new Corte Inglés outlet
Although El Corte Inglés has not officially announced an opening date, from Madrid Secreto we have been able to confirm that -unless some circumstance prevents it- it is scheduled for next Thursday, September 25, as a sign at the doors of the future outlet says.
With it, the department stores will have a total of seven in the Community of Madrid, distributed between the capital, Torrejón de Ardoz, Leganés, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Leganés, Alcorcón and the city of Complutense.
The new Xiaomi store

Following in the same line of openings, this month also opens in Madrid the first Xiaomi store in Spain. It will do so in the Centro Comercial La Gavia, in Vallecas, and in this article you can check what kind of products can be found.
