The concerts for the so-called Día de la Hispanidad will not be the only ones to fill the Community of Madrid with music this weekend. They have been added, since last Thursday, free concerts on the occasion of the Festival of San Nicasio de Leganes: an event that for four nights offers performances at zero price for the public.
The first to take the stage last night was the Valladolid group Siloé, which was seen live by more than 5,000 people, and this Friday will be the turn of Juan Gomez, better known as El Kanka, who will perform at 11:30 pm at the San Nicasio Fairgrounds.
The following day, Saturday 12 at 23:45h, Marc Seguí will take over and on Sunday the band Revólver will put the finishing touch to this cycle of free concerts in Leganés at 21:30h. Before all these stellar performances, several groups will demonstrate the level of local talent on stage.
The Leganés festivities, beyond the free concerts
While it is true that the free concerts are one of the highlights of the program of the Fiestas de San Nicasio, the program covers much more than that: the activities range from children’s games and sack races to dramatized visits, a pasodoble contest or a popular sardinada.
But the list could go on with workshops, the 46th Popular Race of San Nicasio, a contest of typical dishes, an exhibition of Ukrainian products, parades, distribution of chocolate with biscuits, charanga… The complete program can be consulted in this link.
On the other hand, this year there is a novelty in the programming of the festivities: on Sunday at 12:30h will take place the first great Parade of the Hispanidad of the municipality.
