Art history lovers appreciate observe the culture up close and get to know the work from the author’s point of view. It is through this knowledge, this gaze, that the colors and strokes make sense beyond the momentary visual experience.
In order to bring art closer to the general public, the Prado Museum offers this summer an educational experience, aimed at various audiences, especially the youngest ones.
On the one hand, it allows undergraduate and graduate students to deepen their knowledge of collections research and management, preparing them to become curators, museum managers and art historians. On the other hand, it brings culture closer to the little ones, presenting a cultural proposal during the summer vacations.
Workshop for Art History students
The Prado Museum offers the opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students up to 30 years of age to attend a series of classroom sessions with theoretical sessions and visits to unique spaces, for 30 people only. The exclusive training provides for a hybrid online and face-to-face format.
During the week of June 3-6, four virtual sessions will be organized and afterwards students will be given the material so they can work on the practical part. During the week of July 1-5, five consecutive days, visits and theoretical sessions will be organized and practical work will be presented.
Pre-registration must be made by means of a onlineform the deadline is May 15: CVs must be attached and a few will be the lucky ones who will be able to receive the training completely free of charge.

Children’s workshop for children from 6 to 12 years old
From July 4 to 30, the museum will be open to children, taking advantage of the school vacations and the need for families to reconcile work and family life. For a week, children from 6 to 12 years old will be able to visit the art gallery and learn about the collection offered by the Prado Museum in a playful and educational way.
This is an educational activity that brings art closer to children and connects them to works of the past to imagine a future that is in their hands. A daytime activity with art-related activities. There will be 2 groups according to age (from 6 to 9 and from 10 to 12 years old) in order to adapt the content to each stage. In this case the training will not be sponsored, the price is 140€ per child, the duration from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and registrations are made through the web page which will be set up for this purpose on June 1 at 9:00 am.
