Salvador Dalí Square, one of those spaces that do not seem to be Madrid, hosts from Monday, December 5 and until January 5 (for exactly one month) a Christmas market that is covered.
One more year returns this traditional flea market in which are sold, among other things, toys or Christmas decorations. On Monday, during the launch of the space, attended the inauguration of the district councilor José Fernández, who spoke with traders and said that “small businesses in the area revitalizes our neighborhoods”.
The space itself also houses a sculpture designed by Salvador Dalí that pays homage to Newton and is made up of a 14-meter dolmen and a sculpture on a pedestal of three and a half meters.
Other Christmas markets in Madrid
It could be said that there is no downtown district that does not have its own Christmas market. From the traditional ones like the ones in Recoletos or Plaza Mayor to other more renovated ones like the one in Nuevos Ministerios, which incorporates gastronomic stalls of popular products in Madrid such as Dabiz Muñoz’s hamburgers or Santerra’s croquettes, the best in Spain.
But the Christmas market in the Plaza de Salvador Dalí is not the only one in the Salamanca neighborhood. In the Plaza de Colón itself, at the foot of the Castellana, there is another market that also has an ice skating rink.
