On November 21 and 22, those who plan ahead will have a very special opportunity to shop for gifts at their own pace before the Christmas rush: the Mercado de las Conchas returns to La Casa Verde in Torrelodones on November 21 and 22, and admission is completely free.
This year’s event will feature more than twenty artisans, small-scale producers, and creators of emerging brands, who will showcase their handmade pieces, culinary offerings, and products in design, fashion, and home decor to potential buyers.
In addition to the chance to take home an original gift you won’t find anywhere else, the setting itself is a great reason to visit the Mercado de las Conchas. The market is held at La Casa Verde, a renovated country house (originally a furniture and interior design studio) surrounded by greenery.
The Mercado de las Conchas describes its concept as “a more personal way to shop: discovering who’s behind each project, learning about the process that brings each piece to life, and finding something special in the details”—pieces that are meaningful both to those who give them and to those who receive them.
The artisans and producers participating in this year’s event
As usual, the upcoming Mercado de las Conchas will feature a wide variety of products—food, clothing, accessories, home decor—all crafted by artisans and small-scale producers. This year’s culinary offerings will include wines and pâtés from Vinofilia, olive oil from Andolucas, cured meats from Caminero, cheeses from Cerrucos de Kanama, and honey from Apiek.
As for crafts and home decor, the market will feature ceramics by Mamacebra, wooden creations by Luis, miniatures by Biblioteca Liput, stationery by Arttoface, lamps by Barlethome, notebooks, albums, and books by Lacacupaper, candles by Con el Alma de Marta, and handmade soaps by Esencias de Vida.
Furthermore, two new projects are making their debut this year: OKP Design, dedicated to the restoration and creative transformation of objects and materials, and Livvy Studio, founded by two Torrelodones residents, Raquel and Nuria, which combines sewing and interior design in home textiles—such as tablecloths and cushions—and in children’s decor designed and crafted by the duo themselves.
The market will also feature children’s clothing from Ikigai, garments from Balumbaa, leather bags from Taller Puntera, bags from Bruna and Olvido, silks from Nieves, and accessories from Joyas Plebeyas. Finally, the jewelry selection will be curated by Sophie’s Jupiter and Piluca Ortego.
