The best thing about the huge range of ice cream parlors in Madrid is that there is room for traditional recipes, unusual flavors or more innovative concepts. And as we know, ice cream is not just for summer. A good example is Italy, where it is consumed daily regardless of schedules, weather or day of the week.
In Madrid we are not doing badly: these ice cream parlors are open all year round and their product maintains its flavor and texture throughout the four seasons. This is our selection of essential ice cream parlors in Madrid.
1. La Pecera
We’re sure you’ve seen La Pecera on your Instagram profile, but have you tried Taiyaki ice cream? This Japanese-made ice cream is a spectacular combination of a fish-shaped waffle filled with the creamy ice cream flavor of your choice and topped with toppings of your choice.
📍 Various locations
One Tayaki with ice cream, two toppings and a gift 9,80 €
2. Brando
Days before the beginning of summer 2021, and in the middle of the Chueca opened Brando with a mission in mind: to refresh the image of ice cream parlors in Madrid, without neglecting the quality of the product that is made in the workshop of the same space. This space designed by Solar Estudio in collaboration with Marta Jarabo, breaks the mold thanks to a presentation in stone showcases, as if it were a lunar landscape in a place where cobalt blue rules, and where an artificial sun varies its light as the day progresses. Don’t miss the lemon with basil or the Ferrero Rocher.
📍 Calle del Hortaleza, 55 (Chueca)
Two popsicles and a drink for 10 €
3. Amorino
The flower-shaped ice cream that started in Paris and is now worldwide with more than 200 stores. Apart from the curious way in which they assemble the ice cream cones, the flavors and the fact that they have vegan options, even low in sugar, make their tremendous success more than understandable.

4. Mistura
Mistura’s ice creams are indeed appealing to the eye, to the nose and, of course, to the palate. The proposal is to let you combine the flavors you like the most with your favorite toppings, which are crushed and mixed with the ice cream on a granite slab at low temperature. And if ice cream is not enough for you, you won’t stay hungry thanks to the waffles, crepes and sweets that complete the menu.

5. Kalua
Kalúa is one of our favorite ice cream shops in Madrid, not only for the variety they offer, but also for how faithful their ice creams are to the original flavor of their ingredients: the Kinder Bueno ice cream tastes exactly like the cream inside the wafer. Kalúa was born in Argentina in 1982 and landed in Madrid to delight us with its delicious ice cream.
📍 Calle Fuencarral, 131 (Chamberí)
7. Patagonia
The specialty of Patagonia, where the ice cream traditions of Argentina and Italy come together, is the dulce de leche and pistachio flavors, but the chocolate and walnut flavor, which at first glance may seem simple, is a real discovery. It can be combined with other risky flavors from your list of artisanal ice creams such as tomato or blue cheese.
📍 Plaza Tirso De Molina, 19 (Lavapiés)
8. The Alps
If you thought that ice cream smells like nothing but ice, it’s because you haven’t tasted ice cream made with real ingredients like the artisanal ones from Los Alpes. It is one of the oldest ice cream parlors in Madrid, yet it is also one of the most innovative. In addition, here they prepare one of the best horchatas in Madrid.
Calle Arcipreste de Hita, 6 (Chamberí); Calle Agapito Martínez, 6 (Torrelodones) and Calle Camilo José Cela, 16 (Las Rozas)
9.Rocambolesc
The youngest of the Roca family, Jordi, brought to Madrid the most sophisticated version of this glacial dessert with Rocambolesc. You can find it in the gourmet Zone of El Corte Inglés de Serrano and also in the following stores the San Miguel Market. Their combinations are quite original, like the one our colleague Lucía Mos tried in the video of the San Miguel Market: a grilled pastry with ice cream and toppings inside.
📍 Calle Serrano 52 (Barrio de Salamanca) | Plaza de San Miguel, 13 (Downtown)
10.Mom Elba
are you an indecisive person? Well, get ready, because in Mamá Elba they have more than 50 flavors and among them there are gluten-free options. In addition, their ice creams are handmade and all ingredients come from small producers. You can’t miss their menu of waffles, crepes, milkshakes and homemade cakes. They are a delight.
📍 Calle de la Ruda, 15 (La Latina)
11.Bico de Xeado
Bico de Xeado are ice cream parlors belonging to the Cooperativa Agraria Provincial de A Coruña and make their handmade ice cream with milk “from happy cows” from their own farms, as they themselves state. They also use local ingredients for sustainable production in their own bakeries. The result is a handmade ice cream with a unique creaminess. And, of course, being experts in milk, they also offer milkshakes.
📍 Calle del Arenal, 5 (downtown)
12. Orchestra
The proof that ice cream parlors are undergoing a process of sophistication similar to that of ice cream parlors in the United States cafeterias is in Cora. In addition to ice cream, they are experts in brunch and serve specialty coffee from morning to night -open from 9am to 9pm on weekends-. Affogatos (coffee with a scoop of ice cream) in a cup are the perfect meeting point.
📍 Calle del Barquillo, 37 (Chueca)
13. Maison Glacée
They define themselves as cult ice cream. Maison Glacée is the contribution of pastry chef Ricardo Vélez to the city’s finest ice cream parlors. Everything is thought out: the milk is organic and from the Community of Madrid, the wafer is prepared on the spot and the cocoa is Puro Venezuela, in Honor of Moulin Chocolat, its star bakery.
📍 Calle Alcalá, 77 (Salamanca neighborhood); calle Ibiza, 42 (Ibiza)
14. La Dolce Fina
La Dolce Fina is the ice cream parlor of Pili and Juan Pablo, who counted on the Italian gelato masters Sergio Dondoli and Sergio Colalucci as godfathers to make their dream come true, to bring to Madrid the gelato that they had tasted on their trip to Tuscany.
And at the feet of El Retiro opened a charming place where they make these ice creams with different bases, there are more like fruit sorbets, creamy ice creams and popsicles.
📍 Calle de Villanueva, 31 (Salamanca district); Plaza de Cascorro, 20 (La Latina) and Calle del Camino del Cura, 10 (Alcobendas)
15. Töto Ice Cream
Töto Ice Cream started in Malasaña by master ice cream maker Hernán Rodríguez and since 2022 has two more stores. They have their own bakery, because in addition to ice cream, they have pastries, cakes, sandwiches and specialty coffee.
The curious thing about their ice creams is the subtlety of their mixtures and flavors, the baked apple with cinnamon is almost a classic, which combines great with the pecan nuts and toffee, and another essential is the white chocolate with lime.
📍 Calle Gravina, 10 (Chueca); Plaza de España, 9 (downtown) and corredera Alta de San Pablo, 12 (Malasaña)
16. Veneta
Veneta is an Italian gelato shop awarded multiple times as the best in Spain (2012 and 2013) and Europe (2019), even reaching the third position in Gelato Festival World Masters (2020). Since the summer of 2023 it has a branch in the center of Madrid, after years with two ice cream parlors in the Valencian Community.
His big hit is the grandmother’s cookieice cream, beyond nostalgia, it is a different proposal that has made him worthy of his many recognitions.
📍 Calle del Carmen, 15 (Downtown)
From ice or creamy, from classic flavors to the most daring blends, there is no excuse to say no to ice cream. As the number of sweet options that have the taste of good weather multiplies, ice cream parlors in Madrid encourage us to try each and every one of the proposals.
