Just as in soccer, The Best Fifa and the Ballon d’Or (awards that recognize the sporting performance of a certain footballer during a calendar year) coexist simultaneously, in the domestic gastronomy there are two mastodons as far as awards are concerned. The michelin gala took place a few months ago and that of the Soles Repsol has taken place this afternoon at the Auditorium and Congress Palace El Batel in Cartagena.
And the result continues to put Madrid in the place where those who know how to eat put it. That of a booming city with great talents at the forefront of new openings. In total Madrid has 72 restaurants with one sun, 22 with two suns and 7 with three suns.
And the restaurants that come out proud of this new edition are OSA, Since 1911 le Bistroman, Le Bistroman, L’Atelier and Ugo Chan, which have been recognized with 2 Soles. And with a sun the following:
- Bistronómika
- La Llorería
- Bascoat
- Omeraki
- Playing Solo
- Chispa Bistro
- Per Se Bistro
- Pilar Akaneya
- VelascoAbellà
- Abya
Trends and Madrid in the landscape
The latest edition of the Soles Repsol has been kind enough to reward what they have recognized as three gastronomic trends. One would be the young chefs who return to the neighborhood to revolutionize it, another would be the head waitresses who transmit the essence of the restaurant and the last one would be the embers as protagonists of some menus.
Regarding the celebration, María Ritter, director of Guía Repsol, emphasized during the event “the enthusiasm of Spanish chefs to explore recipes and ingredients to make the experience unforgettable”.
Madrid restaurants that transmit that unforgettable experience, then, there would be a total of 101. A figure that brings it close to the region with the most Repsol Suns, Catalonia, which currently has 115.
