As with other holidays of the year, Father’s Day is a good reason to honor one (or two) of the people who have done everything possible to make you the functional adult you are today. Now, every parent is cut from a different cloth, exemplary or improvable, but equally important when choosing the best Father’s Day gift plan.
A gift card will never fail, but just in case, here is a selection of ideas to thrill all of them: from the simplest to the most exquisite.
Visiting the Marvel: Universe of Super Heroesexhibition with your superhero or superheroine
Marvel superheroes and superheroines have superpowers, yes; but they also show vulnerability. It is one of those characteristics that have made them remain references for 85 years and we have felt identified in some way. Peter Parker is a loser to whom everything seems to go wrong; the X-Men are outsiders, those marginal beings who had no place in society; Jessica Jones, depressed, dark. And in spite of everything, superheroes.
In celebration of Father’s Day (or, rather, to celebrate Family Day, whatever families may be), the Marvel: Universe of Super Heroesexhibition offers a 20% discount on tickets between March 10 and 15. A plan to celebrate this day (or any day) with the superhero or superheroine of your choice.
📍 Where to go? Avenida del Partenón, 5 (Barajas).
💸 Tickets: from March 10 to 15, 20% discount on tickets

Enlightenment
Enlightenment is an art installation. It is also a 30-minute immersive experience in which Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons come to life thanks to the latest technology in video mapping. It is located in a very coquettish and somewhat hidden temple in plain sight in Madrid’s Castellana. A special place for an idea that generates memories and anecdotes to tell. In addition, during March 18 and 19, you can get tickets at a 30% discount for Father’s Day by applying the code PAPA30.
📍 Where? Paseo de la Castellana, 6 (Salamanca)

Influences define us, and in the case of Marcel Proust, art was one of the most profound. His work is full of references to painters, landscapes and monuments that shaped his vision of the world, just as our parents leave their mark on ours.Book your ticket at the Thyssen, it will only be on display until June 8, 2025.
And when the tour is over, there’s always time to discover other exhibitions in the city.
📍 Where: Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza. P.º del Prado, 8 (Centro).

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Mitridate, re di Ponto and other works in Madrid.

A story of betrayal, power and passions overflowing with the music of a young Mozart. Mitridate, re di Ponto returns to the stage of the Teatro Real with its baroque tone. And if your father is hooked on opera (or theater), Madrid has more titles on the bill to continue enjoying with the family.
📍 Where to go? Pl. de Isabel II, s/n, (Opera)
💸 Tickets: from 18€.
Hidden Evidence
Have you ever imagined yourself investigating a crime with your father? Pretty iconic, if you ask me. Hidden Evidence takes you deep into a mystery where you will have to decipher clues, interrogate suspects and connect loose ends in a realistic scenario. An immersive experience that, at the very least, will provide plenty of anecdotes.
📍 Where to go? Fernán Núñez Palace. Calle de Santa Isabel, 44, Madrid, 28012
Tickets: from 27€.
Boleras: a classic in Madrid
We know we have not discovered the gunpowder, but from time to time it is worth remembering that bowling alleys are an icon of family entertainment that should not be forgotten. Even if it’s just to practice once a year, you have to stop by for maintenance. We leave you here a list of the most classic ones, others in quite unexpected places like a hotel, or some you didn’t know.
We Call It Drums
Let us guess: your father was one of those who tried to get you to play an instrument to fulfill his own dreams, right? So, you love Mayumana? Then head on over to We Call It Drums, a show where percussion is the absolute protagonist. Between LED-lit drums, rhythms, hymns and movie soundtracks, this show turns sound into pure adrenaline.
We Call It is a format that brings together dances and music from around the world in a show where flamenco, tango or ballet come to life through LED lights, stages covered with roses and a staging that surrounds everything.
📍 Where? Spectacular locations all over Madrid.
💸 Tickets: gift cards from 30€.
Take the concert to the concert
We’ve checked this month’s concert schedule and we think Oracle Sisters is an ideal Parisian combo to take to a pretty alternative dad (on top of that in a venue as mythical as the Sol). Their sound mixes indie, folk and a touch of seventies psychedelia, creating an enveloping atmosphere reminiscent of the great classics with a modern twist.
But fear not, because in Madrid there are many more concerts and, at least, one will fit your vibe. Be sure to check it out.
📍 Where to go? Various locations
Give the gift of a getaway to a great little canyon in Madrid.

The shape of the Barrancas de Burujón is the result of the passage of 25 million years over the clayey terrain that swirls around the Castrejón reservoir. The geological interest of this enclave justifies a surprising excursion to give as a Father’s Day gift, especially if yours is one of those who get lost for an outdoor plan, since it was declared a Natural Monument by Castilla La Mancha in 2010.
The route to the canyon lasts barely an hour and a quarter, the ravines are located on the CM-4000 road in the section that connects Toledo and Talavera de la Reina. As there are no buses, the only means of transport to the canyons are by car, there is a parking lot at the foot of the canyon, and by bicycle from Toledo.

A walk along Madrid Río taking advantage of the good weather.

Now that the good weather has returned and, although the 40th of May has not yet passed, we can put aside the warmest coats, a walk through Madrid Rio is a very good option to celebrate Father’s Day. Its more than 30 kilometers of greenery and bike path are perfect for walking, running, cycling or lying in the sun while you have a good time chatting.
Finish the walk in Matadero and go to one of its free exhibitions or sit in one of the many terraces around Madrid Rio and have a cold beer. There are many options and all of them are good!

A route through the Quinta de los Molinos to enjoy the flowering.

Located at Calle de Alcalá, 257, the Quinta de los Molinos is the favorite park for everyone to enjoy the spring and its trees in bloom. Especially the almond trees. The Sakura flower, as Rosalía would say, usually blooms around this time and this year has been no exception. Thousands of pink and white flowers decorate the tops of the 1,610 almond trees of the Largueta and Marcona varieties in this beautiful park.
A perfect opportunity to spend quality time with your father while enjoying an event that only happens once a year.
📍Calle de Alcalá, 527 (Canillejas)
… or a (haute) cooking class to have a great time in the kitchen.

Maybe your father is one of those who enjoy cooking and preparing dishes for you and your whole family. Or maybe he only cooked out of necessity and the fried egg he was planning to make turned out to be a not-so-good-looking scrambled egg. Whatever your culinary level, a good plan to celebrate Father’s Day can be to spend the morning or afternoon learning in a cooking class.
In Madrid there are several culinary schools that offer courses of a few hours to learn specific techniques or specific dishes. Japanese cuisine, Italian, pastry or even courses to learn how to make bread. Any option is good to improve or start on the other side of the gastronomic world, (and not only as a foodie).
📍Calle de la Farmacia, 6 (Tribunal)
A session of bowling, go-karting, karaoke and laughter.

Make a full bowling, sing at the top of your lungs one of those songs that unite you or have a kart race. There are activities that give a shot of energy to anyone and that feel good regardless of age. And maybe those are the activities you should look for the most on a date like Father’s Day.
Speed Park, located in the Oasiz shopping center, offers 5,500 square meters of fun for father and son to have a great time while you bring out the child in both of you. A golden opportunity to relive moments of your childhood while enjoying each other.
📍Avenida Premios Nobel, 23 (Torrejón de Ardoz)
