Opinionated About Dining (OAD) ranks 45 Spanish restaurants among the top 150 in Europe (and also highlights 41 others in Madrid in the casual category).

Spain is the European country with the best food in Europe. The phrase may sound somewhat chauvinistic and poorly written, but the truth is that it is the conclusion drawn after consulting the list of the best European restaurants according to the prestigious gastronomic guide Opinionated About Dining (OAD).

This time the list of restaurants at the top of the list are Alchemist (Copenhagen), Exebarry (Vizcaya) and JAN (Munich). And to find a restaurant from Madrid we have to go to the seventh position, where we find DiverXO.

The total number of Spanish restaurants is 45, which (as we were saying) makes it the leader as it is the one with the most restaurants in this top integrated by up to one hundred and fifty.

This type of listing – when I say this type, I am also referring to the Macarfi, Michelin o Repsol– usually highlight more or less the same restaurants, although it gives them a different order. The great novelty of this occasion is the incorporation of Txispa and Vandelvira as new restaurants (not from Madrid).

The other Madrid restaurants on the list (in addition to DiverXO) are Desde 1911, Deessa, Estimar, La Tasquita de Enfrente and Osa.

The ranking, which is eleven years old and is made from the reviews of thousands of accredited contributors, also compiles another list of the best casual restaurants in Europe. The list is made up of a total of 705 and 41 are located in the capital of Spain:
