When you go up to one of the best rooftops in Madrid it is very difficult not to think: “From Madrid to Heaven”, yes, we have heard it a thousand times. But when a local expression becomes the unofficial motto of the city, it’s because you have to keep using it.
Rooftops are the latest craze in Madrid leisure, and from our foray onto Madrid’s rooftops we don’t question this at all. Up here are the most amazing views of Madrid. Some overlook the Gran Vía, others are so high that you can see the Casa de Campo and some even have the privilege of being on iconic buildings in the center.
And if on top of seeing the capital from the top they serve you a drink or a good tapa? That means that the sky of Madrid is on earth.
1. Rooftop of the Hard Rock Hotel Madrid

2. Cornamusa Cibeles
With a view as imperial as the building’s history, Cornamusa Cibeles has long been consolidating itself as one of those places where you not only go to look at Madrid from above, but also to eat it (metaphorically and perhaps literally). This spring, Cornamusa’s terrace welcomes the good weather with a new menu, with dishes designed by chef Manuel Berganza and head chef Jesús Almagro.
It is not just any proposal: we are talking about a smoked rice and Cabezuela cheese that arrives at the table to be gratinized with roasted beet powder in front of the diner,a sea bass from Cadiz that is topped with Meunière sauce on the spot, a tomato and olive salad with cold pickled vinaigrette of Moorish carrot that balances the refreshing and the complex.
The place plays on its history: the name comes from the instrument that appears in the Correos logo, because of course, the building was the company’s headquarters. That narrative runs through everything: the uniforms inspired by the old letter carrier’s suits, the copper details, the way the bill is handed to you, even those little winks that you only discover if you look carefully.
3. UMusic Hotel

If you feel like accompanying it with something to eat, their traditional sushi with calamari on top will only enhance the experience.
